Studio A
Last Tuesday I finally got a chance to try out Lansing's new creative studio space, Perspective 2 Studios. I have a basement studio which is use a great deal, but I can only photograph up to 2 or 3 people comfortably, enter P2. This place is huge! You get your choice of two studios either the 1100 sq/ft Studio A or the smaller 750 sq/ft. Studio B. Both studios have gorgeous oak floors. Studio A has as the natural real brick wall, Studio B white plaster. We had a great time. The staff at P2 was friendly and 1st rate and took great care of us!

The session I had was with a contemporary gospel group the Thuston Family. It was a group of eight so the extra room really came in handy. Professional lighting is included in the price of the rental, plus the have a plethora of studio gear that you can rent at reasonable prices. I especially liked the Pocket Wizard II wireless remote... I'm going have to buy a set of those!!

I have to give Kudos to the P2 folks, thanks for making our session one of the most enjoyable ones I've had in awhile. Details, Details, Details!

Each wedding we photograph has little things that go into it to make it special and unique. The wedding cake, the bride's bouquet, the table decorations, etc. Kelly Botwinski, my assistant has a great eye for details like this. All of the above photos were taken by her. It is the details of each wedding that we strive to capture to help record that "special day".

Hibbler-Pollard Wedding

I love outdoor weddings! This was wedding was held at the Opry House in Grand Ledge. A great place to work. The day was perfect. Carla Hernandez was my assistant for the day and we had a good time. Food, Folks & Fun!

Paintball!!!

Dave, my youngest son plays semi-pro paintball. He hooked up with a some guys for a paintball tournament at Excalibur Paintball in Battle Creek. Here are a few photos from that outing. Photographing paintball can be a challenge! You have to shoot with your mask on, making it real hard to see the viewfinder. At any moment you and your camera could get bombarded with paint balls traveling at 300 feet per second. I can't tell you how sticky a camera can get after taking a direct hit, not to mention the pain you can receive when one of the balls hits you in a tender spot! ~M

Dance, Dance, Dance!

My oldest son Matthew is in the Momentum Dance Company. Here are a few photos from their latest recital. Matt is the handsom guy in the black hat! It was hard to get good stuff at this location. I had to crank the ISO up to 1600 and shoot with my 135 f2.0, a little movement but not that bad.

1st Post - Mario & Tracie - Engagement Session

I'm new to this blog stuff. Here are a few photos from that session I did a few weeks ago. I LOVE doing engagement photos! We had a lot of fun. Mario and Tracie were a fantastic couple to work with, very photogenic with a lot of energy. We shot most of these photos around the Lansing Center. Great place to explore!
